We have also taken the functional geometry to the next level offering smoother action over a very wide range of angles. The tips are blunt to minimize injuries, and the contact surface for the oar is wide and smooth, providing consistent engagement, and reduced point loads on your oars for long life. Should an oar pop under adverse conditions, the geometry of the oarlock allows for a smooth release to minimize the chance of oar damage. The oarlock width can be tuned to fit your oar precisely if desired. The material will bend many times before it breaks. Typically two are required per raft or three so there is a spare for bigger trips.
Material is stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance.
Weight is 292grams, compared to over 700grams for bronze oarlocks.
