Glue Instructions
Safety: Use only in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from flames, sparks, and heat sources. Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear gloves and eye protection.
Mixing Ratio:
Mix 98% UR1087 Glue with 2% LA4009 Accelerator. Only mix what can be used within 8 hours.
Surface Preparation:
- Clean repair area with MEK and allow to dry completely.
- Lightly scuff glossy PVC or urethane surfaces if necessary.
- Remove all dirt, moisture, and contaminants.
Glue Application:
- Apply first coat of mixed adhesive.
- Allow to dry 15-20 minutes.
- Apply second coat and allow to dry until tack-free.
Patch Installation:
- Position patch carefully.
- Reactivate adhesive using heat (preferred) or MEK.
- Apply firm pressure using a roller or smooth object.
- Pop trapped air bubbles with a pin instead of pushing them sideways.
Heat Reactivation (Recommended):
Use a hot water-filled pan or heat source to warm the glued surfaces to approximately 160°F. Heat transfer creates the strongest bond and avoids trapping solvents in the glue joint.
Cure Times:
- Initial bond: Approximately 1 hour
- 80% cure: Overnight
- Full cure: 7 days
Best Results: Perform repairs in dry conditions with low humidity. Avoid disturbing the repair during cure. Heat reactivation provides the strongest and most durable bond.
