Whether you see this on the Kicking Horse in Canada as a paddle assist or a fully rigged gear boat on the Grand Canyon, you are talking stability and capacity here. The perfect multi-day boat, with oversized tubes and a killer tube design, it rows like a dream and handles the extreme. This boat has 16 d-rings (8 more d-rings than our PRO 16) and can accommodate whatever your rigging style is. The big difference here is that it is 10” wider than our PRO 16. The PRO 16XT does not come with thwarts by request as this is mainly used as the “Pig-Rig” gear boat. With 6 handles, there are plenty of grab points to get this back on the trailer. Generally, depending on your frame set up, we’d recommended 10-10.5” oars for 16ers. Looking for a 16er that comes with thwarts? Check out our PRO 16.
